the remaining half of the debate will focus on healthcare, the role of government and governing. >> you're at a law school right now. i have been talking to friends in denver covering the debate tonight. what can you tell me about the atmosphere right now? >> reporter: we spent a day yesterday at a job employment here in denver about 7 miles away from where the candidates are square off and people there are just screaming, jobs, jobs, jobs. we spoke to one man 61 years old a couple of months ago he became homeless and is living at a men's shelter at the salvation army. he worked his entire life. he thought at 61 he would retire, not be homeless. that's one issue that a lot of voters are hoping to hear from both sides tonight. historically, they say, though, that the first presidential debate of an election isn't very kind to the incumbent essentially arguing that the newcomer, in this case mitt romney, essentially is elevated by being on the same stage as the president. this is the first time they are seen as equals. historically that doesn't bode well for incumbents. >> okay. well, all ey
